Samsung is set to bring Google Photos’ Memories feature to its AI-powered smart TVs in early 2026. The Memories feature, which curates users’ photos into meaningful stories based on people, locations, and moments, has previously been limited to smartphones and tablets. With this integration, Samsung aims to offer a more immersive experience by surfacing cherished moments on the big screen.
For the first six months after rollout, the Memories feature will be exclusive to Samsung AI TVs. This initiative highlights Samsung’s push to deeply weave Google Photos functionality into the TV experience, making it a unique selling point for its upcoming AI TV lineup.

Partnership Details: Samsung and Google Photos
Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung’s Visual Display (VD) Business, explained that the collaboration will allow users to rediscover and relive cherished moments “right from the comfort of their living room.” Once rolled out, Samsung AI TV users will be able to view curated Memories on the large screen and interact with them naturally through Samsung’s Vision AI Companion.
The Memories feature is scheduled to launch in March 2026, enabling contextual display of photos throughout the day whenever relevant. Users must be logged into their Google Account, and the Memories feature must be enabled to access the content.
Additional Features Coming to Samsung AI TVs in 2026
Samsung plans to add two more Google Photos features later in 2026 for its AI TVs:
- Create with AI: Offers themed templates built on Nano Banana. Users can apply Remix to transform an image’s art style or use image-to-video tools to create short animated clips from still photos.
- Personalised Results: Enables topic-based slideshows. For example, selecting “hiking” would instantly display all photos captured during hiking trips.
These features are designed to enhance personalization and interactivity on Samsung AI TVs, leveraging AI to make photo viewing dynamic and engaging.
Apart from this, the company is also planning to add two more features later in 2026. First is Create with AI, which brings themed templates built on Nano Banana. Users can also utilise Remix to transform the art style of an image, or use the image-to-video capability to turn still shots into short animated videos.
The second feature is dubbed Personalised Results, and it will let users view Memories or topic-based related photos as a slideshow. For instance, users can select “hiking,” and they will instantly be able to see a slideshow of their photos taken while hiking.
Availability and Updates
The Memories feature and subsequent Google Photos enhancements will be preloaded on new AI TV models launching in 2026. Existing Samsung AI TVs will receive these features through over-the-air updates, ensuring older devices can also access the new capabilities without purchasing new hardware.

This integration marks Samsung’s first exclusive smart TV partnership with Google Photos, positioning the company as a pioneer in combining AI-powered TV experiences with popular cloud photo services.
As per Samsung, these features will be available in its AI TVs launching in 2026 out of the box. Other AI TVs that are already selling in the market will get the feature via an over-the-air update. But users need to be logged into their Google Account, and the Memories feature should not be turned off.
Future Outlook
With this partnership, Samsung aims to create a more immersive and intelligent TV experience by leveraging AI to showcase memories and personalized content. As AI-driven features like Memories, Create with AI, and Personalised Results roll out, Samsung AI TVs are expected to stand out in the competitive smart TV market, offering functionality that blends entertainment, nostalgia, and interactivity.
