Authorities have begun reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible for the lynching, looting, and vandalism. According to Yunus, legal action is underway, and enhanced security has been deployed with police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) presence.
The government also framed the violence as a conspiracy to derail democracy during a period of national mourning, stressing that accountability would be ensured.

“We deeply apologise for the terror and violence you have suffered. Attack on journalists means attack on truth. We assure you full justice,” the statement said.
The unrest has also taken on a pronounced anti-India tone. Protesters alleged that Hadi’s killers fled to India, with some demanding the closure of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
